Go,Change your Destiny

Experiences that are rejuvenating my Life, taught by Mr Joel Pannikot
“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”
Lao Tzu According to Chinese tradition, Lao Tzu lived in the 6th century BC. Historians variously contend that Lao Tzu (or Laozi) is a synthesis of multiple historical figures, that he is a mythical figure, or that he actually lived in the 4th century BC.
Some of us wonder why we can’t become better than what we are, when the truth is that we never think about how “better” we can get. We are obsessed with being too fat or too thin, too underpaid or too busy, too unhappy or dissatisfied, so much that the obsession starts becoming our reality. What do you think a runner is focused on when he is standing at the get-set-go mark of a race? That’s right. He is focused on winning! And only when he lets go of thinking about all things that can possibly go wrong with him in the race, can he truly become a winner.

Trust your own capacity to become what you can, and allow yourself, it’s you right and your responsibility to yourself.
“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Picture of Dorian Gray

Mr Joel Pannikot of Athena India fame introduced me to the Preface of "The Picture of Dorian Gray "
Each line is worth a journey,
an answer which leads to the next question..
Read on to live it :)

  • "The artist is the creator of beautiful things.

To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.

The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things.

The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming.

    This is a fault.

Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope.

They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty.

There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written.

    That is all.

The nineteenth century dislike of realism is the rage of Caliban seeing his own face in a glass.

The nineteenth century dislike of romanticism is the rage of Caliban not seeing his own face in a glass.

The moral life of man forms part of the subject-matter of the artist, but the morality of art consists in the perfect use of an imperfect medium. No artist desires to prove anything. Even things that are true can be proved.

    No artist has ethical sympathies.

An ethical sympathy in an artist is an unpardonable mannerism of style. No artist is ever morbid. The artist can express everything.

Thought and language are to the artist instruments of an art.

Vice and virtue are to the artist materials for an art.

From the point of view of form, the type of all the arts is the art of the musician.

From the point of view of feeling, the actor's craft is the type.

All art is at once surface and symbol.

Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril.

Those who read the symbol do so at their peril.

It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.

Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.

When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself.

We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely.

    All art is quite useless."

My torch for the day

"I know my fate. One day, my name will be associated with the memory of something tremendous, a crisis without equal on earth. The most profound collision of conscience, conjured up against everything that had been believed, demanded, and hallowed so far. For it is where you see ideals that I see what is human. Alas, all too human" ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

Love ^~^

Love is always patient and kind

It is never jealous

It is never boastful or conceited

It is never rude or selfish

It does not take offense..

It is not resentful,

Love takes no pleasure in other people's mistakes,

but delights in the truth

It is always ready to excuse ,

trust , hope and endure

Whatever it comes..

These verses were adapted(in the movie, A walk to Remember) from Corinthians chapter 1,1:13

I recalled them after reading my two fav blogger's blogposts: Epiphany and When Love Comes

Sometimes you don’t even need the person to be there, with you, just the mere knowledge that someone’s always with you can make u live a lifetime of joy..

Cuz,what you often fall in Love with, is not someone different, but a mere reflection of your own self..

When u stop seeing the reflection in the water, you think the ripples are distorting reality..it never does..

Let the waters calm and you’ll soon realize.. It’s all within you..

When you are completely in sync with yourself, the exact manifestation of your internalities will take a form, just the way you always knew it to be

That’s the power of Love..

U 2 Me

You are like the air around me,
I can feel it, but I can't see.

You are my calm & my storm,
you are the self, my heart calls home

I lose myself in you,

Just to find You, in Me again..

WhaT are You..?

....

I would want to know..

An expression’s soul..

A vivid sketch

An answer unasked

Or a play of words..

Rhythm’s melody,

An uncomposed symphony

A pulsating beat..

or radiating heat

A game of thoughts..

Well garnished retorts

A jogger’s flight..

A singer’s delight..

A painter’s vision..

Nuclei’s fission

Depth of field, @

Slow shutter speed

D60’s desire,

A notch set higher..

An Unsolved mystery

An uninitiated history

An archaeologist’s search

A Laughter’s mirth

a grip of trust,

a cheese filled crust.

A creative insight

On a starless night

A nick in time

Freezing.. sublime..
